TRAFFIC MEASURES DURING THE MATTONI RUNNING FESTIVAL OLOMOUC 2025

Dear residents of Olomouc, On Saturday, June 14, 2025, our city will once again transform into the venue for the 15th edition of the Mattoni Olomouc Half Marathon. This traditional running event will take place as part of the newly expanded Mattoni Running Festival Olomouc, which will also include a brand-new 5 km race. The event is held under the auspices of the Mayor of the City of Olomouc and the Governor of the Olomouc Region.

The Mattoni Half Marathon is always a spectacular sporting occasion. However, we understand that it also brings certain traffic restrictions to the streets of Olomouc. If you’re not a fan of running or are not planning to attend this year’s half marathon or accompanying events, we apologize for any temporary inconvenience caused by their organization.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding. It is thanks to your support that such an important sporting event can take place in our city.

Traffic restrictions will be in effect on Saturday, June 14, 2025, with some starting as early as Friday, June 13.

All traffic restrictions apply to the Mattoni Running Festival Olomouc, which includes the following races: the Mattoni Half Marathon, the dm family mile, and the Šantovka 5 km Run.

Attention! No stopping is allowed on the routes of all races throughout the entire day — that is, on Saturday, June 14, starting from 00:01.

Please be advised that the no-stopping rule applies to the entire route of all races. We kindly ask you to move your vehicle well in advance to avoid any unnecessary inconvenience, such as towing.

FULL ROAD CLOSURE – NO ENTRY OR EXIT PERMITTED:

The times listed below are approximate. The organizer will make every effort to adhere to the schedule and to reopen the routes for city residents as quickly as possible: Šantovka 5 km Run:

  • Palackého, Pöttingova, Hynaisova, and Studentská streets, including the roundabout: approximately 14:45 – 15:15
  • Dobrovského street and the affected sections of Komenského and Husova streets: approximately 14:50 – 15:25
  • 17. Listopadu (between Žižkovo náměstí and tř. Kosmonautů): 14:15 – 16:00
  • 17. Listopadu (between tř. Kosmonautů and tř. Svobody): 15:00 – 15:50
  • tř. Svobody, right lane in the direction of the run (half of the roadway): 15:00 – 15:50

Entry and Exit Options for Restricted Areas (see Map 1)

  1. Area tř. Spojenců, Kollárovo náměstí – Traffic restrictions from 18:00 to 22:30. Entry and exit from this area will not be possible between 18:00 and 22:30. After 22:30, exit will be possible via Bezručova – tř. Svobody – 17. Listopadu / Havlíčkova.
  2. Area Kavaleristů, Na Bystřičce, Křižíkova, Zeyerova, Nezvalova, Březinova, U Soutoku, Šmeralova, Blahoslavova, Jiřího z Poděbrad, U Reálky – Entry and exit from this area will not be possible between 18:00 and 22:30. A crossing will be allowed until 18:30 and again from 22:00 via Zeyerova, Hálkova, and Vejdovského streets.
  3. Area Kašparova, Václavkova, Wellnerova, Brožíkova, Lolkova – Exit will be possible throughout the race via Hynaisova – Wellnerova – Palackého – Litovelská.
  4. Area Lazce – Traffic restrictions from 18:00 to 22:00. Entry and exit will be possible outside the 18:00–21:45 period via Lazecká street in the direction of Chomoutov. From 22:00, entry/exit will be possible via Studentská – Na Střelnici / Dobrovského.
  5. Area Hejčín – Dolní hejčínská, Štolbova, Mrštíkovo náměstí, U Mlýnského potoka – Entry and exit from this area will not be possible between 18:00 and 21:45.
  6. Area Černovír, Klášterní Hradisko – Entry and exit from this area will be provisionally possible between 18:00 and 21:15 via U Hradiska – Černá cesta or Na Vlčinci – Černá cesta.
  7. Area Koželužská, Sokolská, Hanáckého pluku, Zámečnická, Slovenská, U Hradeb – Entry and exit from this area will not be possible between 18:00 and 22:30. After that, exit will be possible via Sokolská – Legionářská – Hynaisova.
  8. Velkomoravská – Foerstrova will remain open throughout the event. tř. Kosmonautů will operate one-way from Šantovka towards the train station.

Temporary Changes to Public Transport Services

Before the 1/2Maraton, all existing MHD lines will operate on their regular routes and according to the valid timetables until approximately 18:00. After that time, selected lines will either terminate earlier or be rerouted. Additional replacement transport services will also be introduced. Information about service changes will be posted at MHD stops. Before the 5 km race, public transport will be affected only minimally.
