RunCzech opens registrations for the unique trail race - Mattoni Liberec Nature Run 2023
| Download (PDF; 134 KB)Mattoni Liberec Nature Run is the only trail race from RunCzech running series and the registration for season 2023 is already open. Thousands of runners run out of the city into the Jizera Mountains. The countryside race will head up the steep hill, the granite quarry and then through the forest to the Bedřichov dam. The participants can choose either a 12-kilometre course or a longer 22-kilometre course of the Mattoni Liberec Nature Run. The entry fee for the shorter course starts at 16 EUR for first 500 registered runners. The organizers also expect great interest in the longer 22 km track, where registrations start at 24 EUR. Entry fees can be purchased on the RunCzech.com website.

The granite quarry didn't stop the runners! Pavlišta dominated the Mattoni Liberec Nature Run
| Download (PDF; 140 KB)The fifth Mattoni Liberec Nature Run 2022 took place on Saturday and was accompanied by showers. More than 2000 runners did not miss running through the treacherous granite quarry, running down forest paths with roots, magical trails in the Jizera Mountains and popular family run. Vít Pavlišta was the fastest on the 22-kilometer route with an elevation gain of 782 meters. "It was very pleasant, but a bit slippery in some spots. I was careful not to fall during the race. But I enjoyed it," Pavlišta said at the finish. Tereza Novotná dominated the women's race. Many families also came to Liberec and enjoyed the dm Family Run. This popular race closed this year's season of the RunCzech running events.

The popular running event is not only about sport and individual performance, but the special trail race also brings a positive economic impact for the city and the region. To the region, it will generate tens of millions of crowns in initiated consumption or in multiplier sales. Thousands of athletes and their friends and relatives can also be expected during the upcoming weekend.

Thousands of runners will head up the steep hill, where a significant number of them will be happy just to walk. And then through the forest to the Bedřichov dam. This is the Mattoni Liberec Nature Run which has been attracting runners already for the fifth time. In addition to a great program and entertainment, the popular race will also bring millions of crowns for the city in total revenues in multiplication resulting from this event. | Download (PDF; 147 KB)Sebastian Hendel was the best athlete among the men, the Ukrainian Valeriia Zinenko dominated the women. The flat, fast course brought records to both winners, despite the cold weather and wind. Hendel ran the course in Ústí nad Labem with the European course record time, while Zinenko achieved her personal best. "I was hoping for the victory and I ran really well, it was a great race with amazing fans, and even the weather ended up being better than it looked in the morning," Stefan Hendel celebrated after crossing the finish line. "I want to run the Munich Marathon in three weeks, and today I confirmed that I'm prepared," the happy champion added. Valeriia Zinenko also rejoiced at her new personal best: "I am grateful for the personal one. I gave my best, and I am exhausted but happy." The two record holders and all the other runners along the course were loudly cheered on by the enthusiastic crowd.

A thrilling finish! The winner of the Birell Prague Grand Prix is Amghar from Morocco, the best Czech unexpectedly Vebr

Hicham Amghar from Morocco became the king of the Birell 10K Race with a time of 27:24, beating Ethiopian Tades Worku Gebresilase by a second in a thrilling finish, while Kenyan Irine Chepet Cheptai triumphed among the women with a time of 30:16. Patrik Vebr (30:00) was the best Czech at the 25th anniversary edition of the Birell 10K Race, a race that boasts the World Athletics Label Road Race award, while Tereza Hrochova (33:42) was the first Czech female finisher. Five personal and one national record fell among the Top 10 men. Even six personal bests fell in the women's top ten. But it wasn't just about the performances, I think that all the participants enjoyed the race in the magical atmosphere of the evening in Prague," said Carlo Capalbo, Chairman of the RunCzech Organizing Committee.

Records and best times of this year. Birell Prague Grand Prix expects great running performances
| Download (PDF; 156 KB)Running stars will attack world or national records. The 25th edition of the Birell 10K Race will be absolutely spectacular, with 30 African runners on the start list. "I love the atmosphere here which makes me want to run even faster," the Kenyan Rhonex Kipruto said at the Press conference. Apart from him, the best domestic and European runners will also be part of the amazing race. "It is quite possible that a world record will be set here," a Czech elite athlete Jiri Homolac added. The prestigious sporting event, boasting the World Athletics Label Road Race, is to kick off at the Náměstí Republiky in Prague at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. However, the event starts already at 6 p.m. when the adidas Women´s Race 5km will take place as a part of the Birell Prague Grand Prix.

Birell Prague Grand Prix races will take place in the city center on September 3rd and no one should miss them. The 5 km adidas Women’s race will start at 6 pm, followed by the Birell 10K Race at 7:30 pm. "This is the most romantic running event of the season. Runners will enjoy Prague at dusk, so it will enchant them with its mystery. The 5 km adidas Women’s race is perhaps more of an experience than a race. The Birell 10K race brings together runners of all performance levels and also lets them experience something unique," said Carlo Capalbo, president of the RunCzech organizing committee. The races return after a three-year break caused by the covid restrictions.
