Dear citizens of České Budějovice,

For the thirteenth time, our beautiful city will host a major sporting event — the Mattoni Half Marathon České Budějovice, once again as part of the Mattoni Running Festival České Budějovice. On Saturday, May 31, 2025, our streets will transform into a colorful running track filled with thousands of runners. Families, relay teams, and individual participants will test their physical and mental strength.

We wish everyone the best of luck — may you complete the race with ease and take home not only a valuable medal, but also unforgettable memories from Budějovice. We hope you’ll be happy to return again next year.

This prestigious race requires necessary traffic restrictions each year. These are put in place for the safety of runners, cheering spectators, and to ensure smooth traffic flow. Thank you for accepting them with understanding and patience.

Overview of Traffic Restrictions

TRAFFIC MEASURES DURING THE MATTONI RUNNING FESTIVAL IN ČESKÉ BUDĚJOVICE
UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED, TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS APPLY ON SATURDAY, MAY 31, 2024

FULL ROAD CLOSURE:

A full closure will be in effect along the 1/2Maraton race route from 17:30 to 22:30, along the Rodinná míle route from 16:00, and along the new 5 km race route from 14:00. The times listed below are approximate; the organizer will make every effort to adhere to the scheduled times.

STREETS:

  • Biskupská (section Zátkovo nábřeží – Široká): 16:00 – 21:00
  • Biskupská (section Široká – nám. Přemysla Otakara II.): 14:00 – 22:30
  • Husova (section Marián. nám. – Dlouhý most): 14:00 – 22:30
  • F. A. Gerstnera (section U Zimního stadionu – Zátkovo nábřeží): 16:00 – 21:00
  • Generála Píky: 17:30 – 22:30 (entry/exit to/from shopping centers will be possible throughout the event)
  • Jiráskovo nábř.: 17:30 – 20:00
  • Karla IV.: 14:00 – 22:30
  • Krajinská: 14:00 – 22:30
  • Lidická třída (section Mánesova – Žižkova třída): 16:00 – 21:00 (EXCEPT FOR BUS TRAFFIC)
  • Na Sadech: 14:00 – 22:30
  • Nádražní (section Rudolfovská – Pražská tř.): 17:30 – 22:30
  • nám. Přemysla Otakara II.: 10:00 – 24:00 (on May 30, 2024, the southern part of the square will be closed from 18:00 due to preparation works)
  • Čéčova (section Pražská tř. – including Neklanova): 17:30 – 22:30
  • Čéčova (section Průběžná – Neklanova): 17:30 – 20:00
  • Průběžná (section Čéčova – Plzeňská): 17:30 – 20:00
  • Plzeňská (section Jiráskovo nábřeží – Průběžná, roundabout): 17:30 – 20:00
  • Pražská třída (section Mariánské nám. – Strakonická): 14:00 – 22:30
  • Sokolský ostrov: 14:00 – 22:30 (exit from the swimming pool area will remain unrestricted throughout)
  • U Zimního stadionu: 16:00 – 21:00
  • Vodní (section Generála Píky – Rudolfovská): 17:30 – 22:00
  • Pekárenská (section Nádražní – Jírovcova): 19:00 – 21:00 (exit between 17:30 and 19:00 will be possible via Lipenská)

PUBLIC TRANSPORT SUSPENSION (VÝLUKA MHD)

On Saturday, May 31, 2025, due to the Mattoni Running Festival České Budějovice, public transport (MHD) services in the city center and surrounding areas will be suspended from 14:00 to 22:30.

During this time, the following bus and trolleybus stops will be temporarily out of service:

  • Areál VŠTE
  • Blahoslavova
  • Čéčova
  • Družba – IGY
  • Husova kolonie
  • Jírovcova
  • Karla IV.
  • Mariánské náměstí
  • Metropol (only in the direction of Lidická)
  • Náměstí Přemysla Otakara II.
  • Okružní – točna
  • Palackého náměstí
  • Piaristická
  • Poliklinika Sever
  • Pražské sídliště
  • Průběžná
  • Senovážné náměstí – pošta
  • Skuherského
  • Strakonická – obchodní zóna (for lines 5, 6, 9)
  • U Soudu (only in the direction of Mánesova)
  • U Trojice
  • U Zelené ratolesti
  • U Zimního stadionu
  • Voříškův Dvůr (only for lines 5, 9)
  • Žerotínova

NO PARKING RESTRICTIONS

No stopping/parking will be in effect on race day, May 31, from 08:00 on the following streets: Karla IV., Senovážné náměstí (section Karla IV. – Lannova tř.), Na Sadech, Pražská tř., Husova, and Krajinská.

In the remaining streets along the 1/2Maraton route, the no parking restriction will apply on June 1 from 10:00.

On nám. Přemysla Otakara II., no stopping will be enforced from May 31, 2024, at 18:00, and partially from 12:00 due to preparation work.

ACCESS OPTIONS TO AND FROM RESTRICTED AREAS

• A0 – entry and exit via the underpass beneath Strakonická from Sconto will remain open throughout the entire closure
• A1 – exit possible at all times via Plzeňská Street by Penny
• A2 – after 20:00, exit via Průběžná Street
• A1 + A2 + A3 during the time periods between 14:00 – 17:30 and then again between 20:00 – 22:30, entry and exit are only possible via Plzeňská and Strakonická
• A4 – entry and exit restricted from 14:00–22:30
• A5 10:00 – 14:00 exit via Česká Street, then toward Husova; 14:00 – 16:00 exit possible via Česká, Radniční, Biskupská; 16:00–21:00 closed for both entry and exit; 21:00 – 22:30 exit possible via Česká, Radniční, Biskupská
• B – entry and exit without restriction throughout the race via Rudolfovská and Lipenská
• C – entry and exit without restriction via the overpass and Okružní
• D – traffic restrictions from 14:00–22:30 (except for náměstí Přemysla Otakara II.)
• E – traffic restrictions from 16:00–21:00
