This year’s running season is still in full swing, but the RunCzech series has already put together its calendar for 2027. The lineup again features the popular Valentine’s Run, the prestigious Prague races, and extraordinary athletics weekends.
The opening chapter of the RunCzech 2027 series will once again be written by the Prague Valentine’s 7K Run, scheduled for February 13. This sporting and social event has been held since 2013, and while the first edition drew a few hundred participants, this year that number reached 2,000. The fourteenth edition of the race will take place the day before Saint Valentine’s Day in Stromovka, the largest park in the city, and with its 7-kilometer route, it’s an ideal place for anyone looking to take on a new challenge.
After the Valentine’s Run, as is tradition, we head from the Czech Republic to Naples, Italy. The COELMO Napoli City Half Marathon 2027 is the first race of the year at a distance of 21.0975 km. Its fast, panoramic course — honored with World Athletics’ prestigious label — runs along one of the world’s most beautiful stretches of coastline and through the UNESCO-listed historic center. Thousands of runners will travel to soak up the city’s vibrant energy, culture, and breathtaking beauty on February 21, when temperatures in Italy tend to hover around a pleasant 13°C.
On Saturday, April 3, the largest road race in the Czech Republic takes place — an event where records regularly fall. The Generali Prague Half Marathon 2027 is one of the world’s most prestigious half marathons, holds World Athletics’ Elite label, and is part of the acclaimed European half marathon series SuperHalfs. In 2026 the event drew 17,000 runners of 117 nationalities, and Rodrigue Kwizera — at the time still representing Burundi — pushed the race record to 58:16. Due to overwhelming demand, registration for the 27th edition was run as a lottery, which closed on August 11. The last remaining registration codes will be available to interested runners through the event’s charity partners.
The first weekend of May belongs to another running celebration: the Vodafone Prague Marathon 2027. Known for its first-class organization and stunning course, it has been an integral part of the world running calendar since 1995 and represents, for many runners, a chance to conquer the ultimate goal. Over the years it has earned World Athletics’ Elite label and produced countless extraordinary sporting and human moments. The 32nd edition sets off on May 2 at 8:00 a.m. from Old Town Square and, as the only race in the Czech Republic, takes runners across the famous Charles Bridge. Registration for both the main race and the accompanying categories is open, though we recommend not waiting too long — the first third of the total 12,000-runner capacity filled up almost immediately after registration opened.
As part of the unique RunCzech Halfs series, traditional race weekends in regional cities also await us. Alongside the Prague half marathon, the series includes the Mattoni Running in Festival Karlovy Vary, České Budějovice, Olomouc, and Ústí nad Labem. The RunCzech Halfs project offers runners a unique challenge and incentive: anyone who completes all 5 half marathon courses within 36 months earns a special commemorative medal and a place in the official hall of fame. The Mattoni Running Festivals also include shorter-distance races (5 or 10 kilometers) as well as popular family and kids’ runs. Registration for Karlovy Vary, České Budějovice, and Olomouc is open.
