The 13th edition set a participation record,
welcoming nearly 2,000 runners representing 47 nationalities.
The unique social and sporting event Prague Airport Valentine’s Run 7K 2026, organised by RunCzech, took place on 14 February in Prague’s Stromovka park, perfectly matching the spirit of St. Valentine’s Day. The 13th edition brought a record participation, with nearly 2,000 registered runners, celebrating not only love between people but also the joy of running and healthy movement.
For the first time in the event’s history, official race records are now being tracked thanks to chip timing introduced last year. For the second consecutive year, Prague Airport was the title partner of the race.
“Prague Airport is a place where journeys begin, dreams come true and the world opens up. Every day we connect people, cultures and continents and bring new experiences to millions of travellers,” said Pavlína Musilová, Marketing Manager of Prague Airport. “We see the Valentine’s Run in a similar way – it brings joy of movement, motivation and the desire to move forward towards new goals during the winter season.”
More than sixty Prague Airport employees also took part in the race.
A Perfect Early-Season Fitness Test
Women made up approximately 60% of the start field. With temperatures just above freezing, the course was dry, safe and ideal for fast times. Competitive runners completed the 7k well under the 30-minute mark.
“I wanted to see how my start to the season compares with last year,” smiled race winner Kryštof Kudrhalt at the finish. “I’ve run dozens of RunCzech races – it’s probably the best race organiser in the country. I especially appreciate the Prague Half Marathon and Marathon.”
The fastest woman, Jana Kovandová, had a similar goal: “I approached the Valentine’s Run as a test of my current fitness. I train in Stromovka regularly, so it served its purpose – the victory is a nice bonus. I really like RunCzech races, especially the regional half marathons. The atmosphere is always unique.”
Strong International Participation
Runners from 47 nationalities registered for the two races, underlining the event’s growing international appeal. Among them was Glen Taylor from the United Kingdom, who clocked a time under 25 minutes in the afternoon race.
“I’m a passionate runner and came here for a training run. This was my first RunCzech event – everything was perfectly prepared and organised. People were friendly, the support along the course was fantastic and the atmosphere was amazing,” said the Northern Irish runner.
Staying True to RunCzech Values
RunCzech first organised the Valentine’s Run in 2013 as a friendly gathering of several hundred participants. Since then, the event has preserved its original idea – showing that running connects people and brings joy, fun and love.
“At the start you don’t see only individuals, but also couples, groups of friends and entire families,” added Pavlína Musilová. “It was wonderful to see the combination of sporting performance, emotions and the charitable dimension. The RunCzech brand guarantees top-quality organisation and a unique atmosphere.”
The charity partner is the Pink Bubble Foundation, which supports young people whose lives have been affected by cancer. RunCzech donates 10% of every entry fee to this foundation.
The 2026 RunCzech Season Has Begun
The Prague Airport Valentine’s Run 7K 2026 traditionally opens the RunCzech running season. The series continues this Sunday in Italy at the Coelmo Napoli City Half Marathon.
In the Czech Republic, the season will start in grand style with the Generali Prague Half Marathon on 28 March, one of the world’s most prestigious half marathons, welcoming up to 17,000 runners.
