The Generali Prague Half Marathon 2027 is sold out, and scammers are taking advantage. Facebook groups posing as an official registration transfer service are spreading, and buyers receive emails that look like ours. None of this has anything to do with RunCzech.

Please be aware of the Facebook group “Prague Half Marathon 2027 Official Website Transfer” and other similar groups. They use photos and branding from our race and present themselves as an official channel for transferring registrations. They are not RunCzech groups, we have no connection to them, and the registrations offered there are a scam.
The scammers are very thorough. Buyers receive emails that at first glance look like our order or rebooking confirmations, complete with the buyer’s name and an order summary. You pay for a registration, but you will not get a start.
Please keep in mind:
- RunCzech does not sell registrations through Facebook groups or private messages. Any group calling itself “official” is not.
- Don’t trust an email just because it looks like ours. Scammers can imitate our emails very convincingly.
- Not sure? Contact us before you pay. Send the offer or email you received to [email protected] and we will tell you whether it is genuine.
Reselling registrations between runners is not prohibited. However, keep in mind that many scammers offer registrations too, so buying one from someone you don’t know is always a risk. Any agreement on a transfer, including payment, is made solely between the original and the new runner. As the organiser, we are not responsible for the resale or handover of registrations, or for any communication between runners. This means we accept no liability for any fraud, for an original runner failing to send the new runner the code needed to transfer the registration after receiving payment, or for a new runner failing to pay the original runner the agreed amount.
If you still want to take part, we therefore recommend waiting for the official resale of registrations through our charity partners, which will open soon. We will announce the date on our social media (Facebook, Instagram) and on our website as soon as it is confirmed.
If you have already paid a scammer, contact your bank as soon as possible. You may also report the fraud to the police. Please also report the fraudulent groups and the sellers’ profiles directly on Facebook to help protect other runners.
More warning signs to look out for are listed in our warning about fraudulent resale of registrations.
