Once again this year, the streets of Prague 1 will host the Birell Prague Grand Prix, one of the city’s most prestigious evening running events. The race will bring thousands of runners and spectators to the heart of our capital, creating a unique atmosphere in the historic city centre.
An event of this scale inevitably requires temporary traffic restrictions. I therefore kindly ask all residents, drivers, and visitors to pay close attention to the information provided in this leaflet and to plan their journeys well in advance.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation, as well as for respecting the instructions of the event organisers and the authorities responsible for traffic management throughout the race.
I am confident that the Birell Prague Grand Prix 2026 will once again showcase Prague 1 as a vibrant, welcoming, and open district, capable of hosting major international sporting events while remaining considerate of its residents.

The unique evening running event, the Birell Prague Grand Prix, is renowned for its exceptional atmosphere and scenic course. This year’s 29th edition will be no exception.
The programme begins with an early evening 5 km race exclusively for women. As dusk falls, the starting line of the main 10 km race will welcome not only thousands of running enthusiasts from dozens of countries around the world but also some of the world’s top elite athletes. We expect a total of 13,000 participants across both races.
The course starts at the Municipal House, crosses to the opposite bank of the Vltava River, and follows the river embankments, offering stunning views of some of Prague’s most iconic landmarks, including Prague Castle.
The event will involve temporary traffic restrictions, which we strive to keep in place only for the minimum time necessary. Complete information can be found in this brochure.

On Saturday the 5th of September 2026, Prague streets will be full of runners from all over the world. The adidas Women’s 5k Run starts at 6 p.m. at the náměstí Republiky, 7:30 p.m. is the start time of the Birell 10k Night Race. The courses of both races are described on the first page of this leaflet.

This big sport event brings traffic closures, which are controlled by the Police of the CR, and they go as following:
no parking: Stopping the car is forbidden on the whole race route and will lead to the car towing. Please find another parking place and avoid any problems with the car towing. In case if it happens, please contact the Prague City Police on line 156 and follow the instructions.
