  After three years, RunCzech races finally returned to Prague. Sportisimo Prague 1/2Marathon was attended by more than 9500 runners. Four athletes ran to the finish line in under one hour. The Prague Half Marathon was dominated by Keneth Kiprop Renju in a time of 59:28. Philemon Kiplimo Kimaiyo finished second and Mathew Kipkorir Kimeli was third. The fastest woman of this year's edition was Nesphine Jepteling with a time of 1:06:57. The best Czech runner was Jiří Homoláč, who managed the half marathon in 1:04:36, the fastest Czech woman was Hana Homolková (1:20:31).

  Thousands of runners are returning to Prague! The popular Sportisimo Prague Half Marathon will start already on Saturday with many participants and pro-athletes. The event starts after the two difficult years, when it wasn’t possible to organize this important sports event due to pandemic. "We need a restart and this whole event can wake up not only Prague. When we move, there is more positive energy and joy. That is why we will also run for peace," said Carlo Capalbo, president of RunCzech. The event will start with the sound of the symphonic poem Vltava, from Rudolfinum at 10:00 am. The biggest favorites are athletes from Kenya. From the Czech competitors, Jiří Homoláč is the best Czech long-distance runner and has high hopes for the race.

  The start list of the thrilling Sportisimo Prague Half Marathon is full of big names and future global stars. Kenyan Philemon Kiplimo, a member of the RunCzech Racing team, will also be seen at Prague’s fast course on Saturday, April 2. In addition to the eighth man of the world tables with a personal best of 58:11, his compatriots Kennedy Kimutai and Keneth Renju will be among the favorites for the victory. The best known Czech athlete on the course will be Jiří Homoláč. Among women, the contenders are Brenda Jepleting and Irine Cheptai from Kenya, with strong running also being expected from Petra Kamínková and Hana Homolková from the Czech Republic.

  The popular Sportisimo 1/2 Marathon Prague, which will start from the Rudolfinum on Saturday, April 2, will run with a strong message of peace. „We are organizing a big event in the middle of a difficult situation and we cannot ignore it. The organizers will give runners, for example, symbolic bracelets in Ukrainian colors before the start. Even the last two years of covid, when the organization of mass events became quite complicated, did not deter large brands from long-term sports partnerships. "Adidas has been with us practically since the beginning. We have welcomed together over 1,2 million runners throughout a quarter of a century of our amazing cooperation," says Carlo Capalbo, President of RunCzech. "RunCzech has reached great international recognition and every race they organize has a high level of professionalism. Apart from that, they are constantly innovating and coming up with new sports projects," said Krzysztof Łuczakowski, Sports Marketing Director for Eastern Europe.

  RunCzech, the organizer of prestigious running events, decided to reduce the advertising campaign commemorating the anniversary of the legendary athlete Zátopek with the unfortunate letter Z due to the war in Ukraine. "A few weeks ago, we launched a campaign on social media and in the press to support the phenomenon of running by commemorating 100 years since the birth of Emil Zátopek and 70 years since winning his three Olympic gold medals," explains Carlo Capalbo, president of RunCzech. The advertising campaign was created by leading creatives and counted on the gradual discovery of the entire message from the unfortunate letter Z to visuals with a running legend and messages like “This season is all about Z” or “RunCzech remember”. "Even though it is just a letter of the alphabet, which is supposed to remind a Czech phenomenal athlete, we do not want it to be associated with aggression and evoke unpleasant emotions," adds Capalbo. This is a highly professional and visually successful campaign, which experts have been preparing since last summer. However, RunCzech understands that it must be adjusted immediately due to unforeseeable circumstances.

  Finally! After two years, it is possible to register for some of the most popular races globally and the biggest in the Czech Republic. RunCzech is opening registrations for Prague Half Marathon, Volkswagen Prague Marathon with dm Family Run, Prague Relay and Birell Grand Prix. The first sporting event will be held on 2nd April, followed by the famous marathon on 8th May, relay racing on 22nd – 23rd June and the exciting night race on 10km and 5km on 3rd September.
