O2 Prague 4x5 Relay
Just two months and two days remain before a brand new RunCzech running race gets underway. On the afternoon of Tuesday 19th April, the O2 Prague 4x5 relay takes to the paths of Stromovka Park. Race capacity is to be capped at four thousand runners.
The four-member relays may include work or family teams or perhaps a group of friends. And what about the members of a range of Chambers of Commerce? They can look forward to competing to win the TOTAL Chambers Cup.
A range of Chamber of Commerce teams from a number countries are expected to take part in the O2 Prague 4x5 relay. “Chambers of Commerce are a platform for companies to work together and form closer ties and this goes hand in hand with the whole RunCzech vision. Cooperation is also the key to success in the relay race. Members of the British, French and Italian chambers of commerce are all getting involved, while representatives from the Economic Chamber will also be joining us. So for us it is an honour to be part of the project,” says British Chamber of Commerce deputy director in the Czech Republic, Silvie Bušniaková speaking on behalf of all the chambers taking part.
A jam-packed afternoon of sport, music and meeting friends, colleagues or business partners in an informal running environment. This is the vision of the O2 Prague Relay. “We’re happy to be contributing to organising the pilot project of a new race. And we also believe in adopting a modern approach and innovative thinking. It’s a pleasure to help create the great atmosphere and stir up a bit of healthy competition between friends and business partners,” says Marco Pannunzio, Managing Director at TOTAL Czech Republic, the main Partner to the Chambers Cup.
JOHNNY SERVIS will also be playing an important role as co-organiser. “Organising a joint race is the next step in our longstanding partnership with the RunCzech series. We always aspire to raise the bar in terms of the calibre of each event. For instance this year we’re putting together Team Boxes for the separate relay teams. We believe that the excellent organisational standard of the event will contribute to its success,” Business Manager at JOHNNY SERVIS Jiří Jeništa reveals.
Each runner can look forward to a whole host of great bonuses during the race afternoon. Each team member can look forward to a race T-shirt, backpack, finishing medal, start number souvenir and lots more. The teams will also receive a picnic basket with refreshments and a blanket. “We want to turn the event into a big social gathering where people can meet in the beautiful surroundings of Stromovka Park and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere. It will be an occasion for family members, friends, colleagues and business partners to come together. We’re confident it’ll be a day to remember,” adds RunCzech Organising Committee president Carlo Capalbo.
The participating teams can hire Team Boxes which is theirs to use throughout the race. Aside from keen runners and fans, musicians will also feature at the event to help create the perfect race atmosphere. And right at the finish runners and their friends can look forward to a concert by a well-known band. The O2 Prague 4x5 Relay will be on 19th April at 5 pm on the Exhibition Grounds in Prague’s Holešovice district. This is also the end of the lap and the handover point.
Aside from the TOTAL Chambers Cup, a number of accompanying races will also take place as part of the O2 Prague 4x5 Relay. For children between two and eight years of age there’s the chance to compete in the Bambini Run. For doctors there will be the ČSOB Pojišťovna Medical Run, while employees at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic will also have the opportunity to compare their strength with those working at embassies and consulates in the Czech Republic in the Diplomatic Cup.
