Most k umění is Bridge to Art - a non-profit organization that works with children homes called Klokánek – Kangaroo and asylum home Gloria for mothers with children. In asylum home Gloria are mothers who find them self in difficult situation but still they want to take care of their children. Kangaroo homes are temporary homes for sexually and physically abused children aged from 1-18 years old. Bridge to Art has an ongoing art project for these children. We usually take 6 children (so more family atmosphere is implicated rather than school one) with one of their guardian from the Kangaroo house or mother from asylum house Gloria and take them to the museum wherever is the currently most interesting exhibition. After that we have an art workshop inspired by the art work seen in the exhibition.
We make sure that the art material have high quality so children can take it and hang it in their rooms. We also photograph them so they have a picture as well. After that we walk in the historic part of Prague or we take a boat and have a lunch. Sometime we celebrate birthdays with a cake and a present. All children receive some presents like books etc. Art therapy is one of the most powerful medicines for children’s hurt souls. We have had this project for over 7 years and all staff member are doing it on a voluntary basis with lot of joy and enthusiasm. Thank you for your interest and support.
