Information for runners
It is strictly forbidden to use roller-skates, bicycles or other means of transport, to go on the course with a child’s pram, run with dogs or carry children. Participation in the race is at participants’ own risk. Time limit is 3 hours from start. The limit time is listed for each kilometer in the map of the race. All runners behind this time must leave the course and finish their participation in the race for safety reasons.
Chip and Timekeeping
Timekeeping will be tracked through chips, which will be attached to the back of the start number, and which must not be removed at any time during the race. Remember – NO CHIP = NO TIME!
Your start number must be fixed visibly on your chest. Safety-pins will be included in the envelope containing your start number.
Chips are disposable!
Public Transport, Car Parks
The start of all races is on the Přemysl Otakar II. Square, in the city center, easily accessible by foot. Public transport (on the race day, your starting number is your ticket for the public transports from 2 p.m. to 12 p.m.).
Technical Area (map no. 2 and 3)
Placed on Přemysl Otakar II. Square. Open from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. There are toilets, changing rooms, bag deposit, massages (Emspoma by Jutta), shower, taping and after the race medal engraving. Entry only with a start number of Half Marathon, Relay or 2Run.
Open from 5 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Hand over your belongings to a volunteer standing at the appropriate box corresponding to the last two digits of your bib number. Maximum accepted size of bags
25×35×50 cm. We recommend to use the official race sack which you received in the Expo.
Start area (map no. 4)
The starting gate is on the Přemysl Otakar II Square. Only runners with their start numbers will be allowed access to the corridors.
How to get to the Start and your Corridor (map no. 2)
Corridors are open from 6:00 p.m. Your corridor is according to “group” on your start number. Enter to the corridors from technical area. Entrance only for runners.
Are clearly visible according to times: 1:30, 1:40, 1:50, 2:00, 2:10, 2:30. The pacemakers will be standing in the appropriate corridors according to times.
Will be located at the 5. 10. and 15 km marks and at the finish on both sides. MATTONI WATER / GATORADE ISOTONIC DRINK / FRUITS from KAUFLAND.
Refreshing / SpongePoints
Will be located at the 7,5; 12,5 and 17,5 km marks.
MATTONI WATER AND WATER SPONGES.
Are placed at every refreshment point, changeover point, technical area, at the start and finish.
Will be available at the start, the finish, technical area and along the course. If you need to call an ambulance, ask a volunteer or call the emergency services on number 155 and tell them your starting number. If you are not feeling well or have recently been ill it’s best to not take part in the race. There will be more than 13 medical points, 4 mobile teams with AED and ambulance points along the course.
On the back of your number fill in all important information about your state of health for the case of medical assistance.
After race party
From 8:30 pm on Přemysl Otakar II Square. Will be an after-race runners party, where you can receive a free of charge snack after submitting a coupon from a mobile app or email or a finisher medal.
You will be notified about your finish photos by email within 3 days after the race.
Information for Relay Teams & 2Run
The Mattoni České Budějovice Half Marathon – relay race and the race 2Run start at the same time as the runners in the main race, i.e. at 7 p.m. The start is on the Přemysl Otakar II. Square.
The relay baton = team number with chips attached to a belt which measures your time and which individual relay members hand over to one another at the change-over points. The first relay member finds this team number with the belt in his/her envelope and mustn’t forget to take this number on a belt along with him/her to the start line. NO RELAY BATON = NO TIME! The finisher will return the belt in the finish.
1st Member of the Relay Team
There will be a special corridor towards the front of the line-up area on the Přemysl Otakar II. Square, indicated with the letter on your start number. Corridors are open from 6:00 p.m.
2nd – 4th Members of the Relay Team
The corridor is located before the carpet (which records your time) in the direction of the race.
Changeover Points (map no. 1)
1st changeover 5. Km(map no. 1) – on the Husova třída.
2nd changeover 10. Km – Vodní street.
3rd changeover 15. Km – Nádražní Street
The changeover points are indicated on the map of the course in the previous section.
Changeover point for 2Run
Changeover 10. Km – at the street Plynárenská next to the meander of Ohře river.
Changeover (map no. 3)
PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE GRAPHICAL ILLUSTRATION OF THE CHANGEOVERS!
Wait for your team-mate (A) in the corridor at the changeover in front of the carpet that measures your time. As soon as you (B) see your team-mate, run together towards the carpet. BOTH OF YOU (A+B) MUST RUN OVER THE TIMEKEEPING CARPET AT THE SAME TIME. This carpet is laid on the ground and is black. The incoming runner (A) finishes in the area beyond the carpet, you continue on to the next changeover or to the finish line.
Transport to the Changeover Points
Walking or by bus. At the 10km and 15 km there are two buses departing from the Expo from the station U Zimního stadionu at 6:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. The first bus from 10 km goes back at 8:30 p.m., another one from 15 km at 9 p.m.
The 3 most important rules that you must follow:
1) Team members are not allowed to swap start numbers.
2) Under no circumstances is it allowed to change the order of the runners on the individual legs. You must run in the order that your names are listed on the application form.
3) The first relay member mustn’t forget to bring along the relay baton which is made using a team start number on the belt.
NO RELAY BATON = NO TIME!
