Rules and general information

Selected rules

  • Only properly registered runners with a starting number of the race visibly placed on their chest are allowed to participate in the race.
  • Participation in the race is at participants' own risk.
  • Registration fee confirmed by participant in on-line order is final, non-refundable, and is non-transferable to another person. No discount can be added to order after participants’ on-line confirmation of the order.
  • Start package and pre-purchased T-shirt can be picked up only at the Race Expo. You must present your photo ID (ID, driving license, passport, ...) with same personal data like in registration form.
  • The starting number (and chip) is non-transferable.
  • Each participant must return chip - in the finish area, at the checkpoints or at the address of the organizer as soon as possible (within 10 days after the race); or pay its price of 500 CZK / 20 €.

General Rules

  • Half marathon (21.0975 km) and marathon (42.195 km) course events are open to all runners at least 18 years old. Shorter distance (5 and 10 km) events are open to runners over 15 years of age.
  • Each participant must declare that he or she is older than 18 years of age or he/she has an approval his/her guardian. Athletes younger than 18 years old can start only with a written approval of his/her guardian.
  • Each participant is aware of the risks, i.e. the risk of physical damage or injury incurred while participating in the race.
  • Each participant declares his or her participation as voluntary.
  • The organizer reserves the right to change and have mistakes in the program and propositions.
  • adidas Women's Race 5 km is open only to women.

  • Local regulations for the races are taken from decrees and orders issued by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), International Association of Marathons and Road Races (AIMS) and the Czech Athletic Federation (ČAS).
  • Participation in the race is at participants' own risk.
  • The runners are personally responsible for making the decision to take part in the race based on their own physical ability and readiness to cross the entire distance.
  • The race will take place regardless of weather conditions. Only in extreme conditions (warm, cold, storms, ...), the race can be postponed or cancelled based on current weather conditions.
  • The organizer is not responsible for any injury, any property damage or any other harm arising in connection with participation in the race or watching it.
  • Each participant is required to have a health insurance at the time of the race in the event that emergency services are needed or hospitalization.
  • All photo and video material acquired during the race displaying participant‘s person can be used by organiser for its campaign royalty-free.
  • None of the organizers' decisions are subject to judicial review.

Registration

  • The organiser reserves the right to interrupt or close the registrations without a prior notice.
  • Registration is possible only through online registration form available on the organiser's web page and/or places determined by organiser.
  • Registration is deemed as completed at the point of receiving full payment; price is determined by the date of crediting to organiser's bank account, paid in cash or by bank/credit card.
  • Registration fee confirmed by participant in on-line order is final, non-refundable, and is non-transferable to another person. No discount can be added to order after participants’ on-line confirmation of the order.
  • Orders not paid within 7 working days of their submission will be automatically cancelled (the payment must be received no later than the Tuesday before the first race for which is registered, or 7 days after the registration depending which situation comes earlier).
  • Already paid registration fee is transferable to another race only in the event of medical issues. In order for such a transfer to be processed the participant must send medical report to the email address of the organiser (ranking@runczech.com ) latest 10 days before the respective race. No later transfer is possible. Approval of the transfer is done solely by the organiser. Registration where the coupon is used (mainly through charity organisations and other cooperating with the organiser), are not transferrable.
  • Purchased items (price paid for them) from additional merchandising are non-refundable and non-transferable (not even due to medical reasons).
  • The size of a T-shirt cannot be changed once it has been ordered.
  • The organiser reserves the right to limit additional merchandise sales (e.g. t-shirt, medal engraving, massage in Expo, pasta party).

Race & Start Packages

  • Start package and pre-purchased T-shirt can be picked up only at the Race Expo. You must present your photo ID (ID, driving license, passport, ...) with same personal data like in registration form.
  • Earlier or later sending by post or other delivery of the package is not possible. Packages unclaimed in expo cannot be picked up later.
  • Start package will be handed over on the reception of a confirmation email, including an assigned start number and photo id.
  • Each race participant must follow the instruction of the organizers, volunteers, and referees even in the case their call to leave the race route and stop in the race.
  • Violation of one or more rules (especially manipulation of the start number or chip) or rules of IAFF/ČAS may lead to disqualification from the race and removal from result without compensation.
  • Each race participant is required to read and respect important information and guidelines published by the organizer on the website before the event.
  • Skates, bicycles and other vehicles are strictly forbidden on the race course as well as shortcutting the course.
  • Each race participant must write contact details, medication and any allergies on the back side of start number in case of medical treatment.
  • Prizes for winners are determined separately for each race and published on the website of the organizer. Prizes are paid after doping controls. The winners of each category will be contacted by email. Prizes are not legally enforceable.

Time limit

  • Time limits and tempo for those limits for individual races are by length:
    • Marathon (42,195 km): 7:00 hours, tempo 9:45 min / km
    • Half marathon (21,0975 km): 3:00 hours, tempo 7:55 min / km
    • 10 km: 1:30 hour, tempo 8:25 min / km
    • 5 km: 0:45 hour, tempo 8:20 min / km
  • Athletes running slower than average speed for time limit of the race (as above) can be excluded from the race by the organizer and after a handing of starting number may continue in the race only on a route out of the race in the associated communication space (pavements, sidewalk for pedestrians, etc.) and must be in accordance with the law on road traffic.

Timekeeping and results

  • It is strictly forbidden to tamper with the starting number and /or chip.
  • The starting number must be visibly placed on the chest during the whole race. It is forbidden to overlap the start number, especially while crossing time checkpoints.
  • The regularity of the race is supervised by referees of ČAS.
  • The starting number (and chip) is non-transferable. Breach of these rules will lead to disqualification.
  • Runners running the full length of the course (including team race participants) - men and women are ranked separately. Veteran category bonuses are announced for each race.
  • The "official time" is the time from the shot. The "real time" is the time from crossing the start line to crossing the finishing line.
  • Times at checkpoints and real time are informational only.Rank is determined according to the order at the finish, therefore, according to official time.
  • Participants can claim results within 5 calendar days of the race by writing to ranking@runczech.com . Results are announced as official after this period.
  • Each participant must return chip - in the finish area, at the checkpoints or at the address of the organizer as soon as possible (within 10 days after the race). The chip is a property of a company providing time keeping and it is just lent to the participant, keeping the chip can lead to enforcement of the amount in acquisition cost of the chip (500 Kč / 20 €) or on the organizers' call return its price (500Kč / 20 €) via bank transfer or in cash. Violators' Runners ID account will be blocked and his/her name will be public on website.

Team Races (teams and relays)

  • Teams and relays - at least one member of the team must be member of the presented organization. Teams can be male, feminine or mixed.
  • All participants of the team race run the full distance.
  • Runners of the relay race must run in the order how names are listed on the application form and in accordance with changeover points.
  • The team members and their order can be changed through the online registration system. This change must be done by the Tuesday before the race.
  • Team members are not allowed to swap chips or start numbers.
  • Teams - individual running times are cumulated to give a final team ranking.
  • Runners from elite start list or other special category are not allowed to participate in team race.
  • Relays – the qualification of relays is set by the order at the finish line based on official time.

Special categories

  • Registrations in specials categories are possible under certain conditions. Registration will be cancelled without compensation and disqualification from the race can happen too.

Medical Race

  • Medical Race is part of the Hervis Prague Half Marathon and Volkswagen Prague Marathon. The category has separate results. Runners can take part as individual or in relay.
  • Particiation is limited to employees of medical facilities (doctors, stomatologist, pharmacist - in chambers, nurses, laboratorian, physiotherapist and other qualifications in registers NCZ, NZO, medis etc)

University marathon

  • University marathon is part of the Volkswagen Prague Marathon, runners run as a relay. Results are published separately for this category.
  • Only students of universities of age between 18 and 26 years can participate. Their status shall be verified by entering ISIC card number into the registration.
